CeeDee Lamb Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Cowboys WR Ahead of Week 4

The biggest concern for fantasy owners heading into Week 4 is the availability of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who has caught 16 receptions for 222 yards this season so far.

Lamb sustained a high ankle sprain during the Cowboys’ Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Will Ceedee Lamb Play Week 4?

Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Lamb will “miss some time,” putting his availability for the Week 4 game vs. the Green Bay Packers in doubt.

“CeeDee is a guy that heals quickly, and he’ll do everything in his power to get back but it does look like he’ll miss a little bit of time,” Schottenheimer said.

When is Ceedee Lamb Coming Back?

According to Reuters, Lamb is in line to miss 3-4 weeks, which means he’s unlikely to suit up in Week 4. All signs point toward Lamb missing Week 4. He is currently ruled out, and he might soon be placed on injured reserve.

What CeeDee Lamb’s Injury Means for Fantasy Owners?

If you have CeeDee Lamb as a starter, you’ll need to replace him this week. While 3-4 weeks is the projected window, a general assumption of at least two weeks can be taken into account.

In his absence, George Pickens will be quarterback Dak Prescott’s go-to guy in Lamb’s absence. He’ll absorb the most share and therefore he enters the Week 4 matchup with massive upside for those fantasy owners having him on their roster.

Apart from Pickens, tight end Jake Ferguson should see an uptick in targets. He could become a reliable red-zone option as well. Other receivers such as Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin and Ryan Flournoy will be wildcard waiver options.

The Cowboys’ coach has asked for other guys to step up.

“Guys have to step up,” Schottenheimer said. “That’s a big part of it. I think we are very fortunate to still have a guy like [George Pickens], you saw [Jalen Tolbert] step up and make some plays, Jake Ferguson had an awesome game, but injuries are unfortunately a big part of this business. It’s hard to replace a guy like CeeDee, but guys got to step up and do that.”

What Should be Your Fantasy Strategy?

    • Drop or bench Lamb if your roster allows. You’ll need to play someone else in his spot.
    • Prioritize Pickens and Ferguson in your waiver/radar.
    • Monitor Lamb’s practice reports late in Week 5 onward.
    • Don’t overvalue while trading for Pickens.
