Deion Sanders Makes Shocking Revelation About Phone Call for Shedeur Sanders on Draft Day and It’s Not Baltimore Ravens

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes went back to their winning ways in Week 4, earning their first Big 12 victory against the Wyoming Cowboys 37-20. The atmosphere seems to have relaxed a bit around Boulder, and Coach Prime is back to his usual cheerful way.

In this new mood, an episode of the Kelce brothers’ “New Heights” podcast with Deion Sanders was released on Monday. During it, Sanders got into some details about Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Draft. It seems that more teams were interested than fans were led to believe:

“Philly called us on draft day. They didn’t mention that ; I just let it get out of the bag. Philly called. Who was it? Baltimore and the Browns.”

It appears that, despite falling heavily on the NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders attracted the attention of at least a couple of teams besides the Cleveland Browns, with whom he would eventually end up.

Deion Sanders also made a point that going with the Baltimore Ravens wouldn’t have made any sense for Shedeur Sanders, as it would’ve only meant being Lamar Jackson’s backup for the foreseeable future.

Kaidon Salter plays well in Colorado’s victory over Wyoming

After temporarily losing the starting quarterback job to Ryan Staub in Week 3’s loss to Houston, Kaidon Salter was back as Colorado’s starter for Week 4. He impressed against the Wyoming Cowboys, throwing for 304 passing yards, with three touchdown passes and a completion rate of 64.2%.

Overall, it seems like Deion Sanders was content with Colorado’s performance, but he still feels like the team is missing that “killer instinct” to truly take them to the next level. Here’s what he said shortly after the game:

“I’m happy with the results, but I’m not happy with the finish,” Colorado coach Deion Sanders said. “I told our young men, too much ha-ha and hee-heeing on the sideline when we got the lead.

“ I wish we could be a little more — have a little more killer instinct in us to really put teams away, like we’re capable of doing.”

While a Big 12 victory, the game is but a shadow of the true challenges ahead for Colorado. Over their next three games, the Buffaloes will face three ranked conference rivals: No. 25 BYU, No. 24 TCU, and No. 14 Iowa State. Their season could easily crumble over the next month.
