“They Clowning Me Right Now”: Deion Sanders Opens Up About Being Bullied by Sons Shedeur and Shilo Sanders Amid Colorado’s Struggles

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are not spinning the same magic they did under Coach Prime’s son Shedeur Sanders. Last season, they registered their first bowl-eligible season as they finished the season with a 9-4 record. However, this year, the Buffaloes are off to a challenging start, 2-2, to begin the season.

On Sunday, Coach Prime appeared on the New Heights podcast hosted by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. There, he said that his NFL sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, are “clowning” him after a lackluster start to the season. Deion is also “clowning” them back as both of them are yet to play their first regular-season game.

“Tough jokes, yeah,” Sanders said (6:00). “They clowning me right now, and I’m clowning them right back.”

Sanders also revealed how, despite the distance between them, they are trying to stay in touch with each other through the family chat box. He shared that while his older son, Deion Sanders Jr,. is taking good care of him, he misses both Shedeur and Shilo.

“Like, we just, I just got another door, and it’s just, you know, we got this family chat,” Coach Prime added. “Then we got the girls involved with the chat. Then we just got all the boys, then all the girls. We got all different kinds of chats ‘cause I got five kids. So right now, they on my bu**.

“I just told them, ‘I know you miss me. I know you miss me. Don’t get it twisted.’ But you know what, man? I definitely miss them, because all my life they’ve been there. They’ve been right there with me the whole step of the way. My oldest son is still here and doing all the social stuff, but I definitely miss my other two sons.”

Deion Sanders’ sons Shedeur and Shilo Sanders waiting to make their mark in NFL

Shedeur Sanders played a key role in helping Colorado transform from a 1-win season to a 9-win season in just two seasons. His brother Shilo also did well on defense. However, their NFL future is off to a rough start.

Shedeur, who was projected to go in the draft, slipped to the fifth round, where the Cleveland Browns picked him at No. 144. He impressed in the preseason opener, but due to an oblique injury, he couldn’t feature in the next two preseason games. After Kenny Pickett was traded, the Browns included Shedeur in their final 53-man roster as the third-string quarterback behind Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

Meanwhile, Shilo went undrafted but went on to be signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. He was waived before the final 53-man roster was announced.
