The Texas Longhorns hosted the Sam Houston State Bearkats in Week 4, as they continued to score wins after losing the season opener to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Bearkats, who were yet to win a game this season, were shut down by the Longhorns’ defense while the Arch Manning-led offense scored in bunches.
The Longhorns scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters. Manning has been highly efficient through the air and has reached the endzone five times. Meanwhile, Sam Houston State’s quarterback Hunter Watson could not even pass for more than 100 yards in the game.

Texas vs Sam Houston State: Game Summary
While it took a long time for Texas to get on the scorecard but when they did, there was no stopping them.
With more than seven minutes into the game, the Longhorns finally reached the endzone as Jerrick Gibson rushed for a 13-yard touchdown, followed by Mason Shipley getting the extra point. With less than a minute remaining in the first, Manning rushed for a 5-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0.
The story repeated in the second quarter with the addition of a field goal. First, Manning connected to Jordan Washington for a 32-yard touchdown. Shipley scored a field goal from 29 yards, and before the second quarter ended, Manning scored on a 2-yard run.
In the third quarter, Manning connected with Ryan Wingo twice for two touchdowns just after halftime. The Longhorns ended the third quarter with a field goal.
In the final quarter, Texas scored once, with running back Christian Clark rushing for a 5-yard touchdown and sealing the game 55-0.
