It is a battle between two 3-0 teams as Texas Tech visits Utah at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. Both teams are coming in with hot starts to their respective seasons and are looking for their fourth win in a row, which means one team’s three-game winning streak is about to end.
One winning streak has to give, and Texas Tech lead in the first half 10-3 on Utah’s home field, with the Red Raiders’ defenses holding strong so far against the Utes. As the game progressed Texas Tech took a commanding lead and ended the game with an impressive scoreline of 34-10.

Texas Tech vs Utah Summary
The Texas Tech Red Raiders came out swinging, with Cameron Dickey starting the Texas Tech offense strong with a 1-yard rushing touchdown, getting past Utah’s defenses. This was soon followed up with a good kick from kicker Stone Harrington, who was successful in converting the extra point.
Heading into the second quarter, both sides tightened up their defenses, with neither team scoring anything throughout the second quarter. It would look like it would be scoreless until Harrington came up big for Texas Tech once again with a successful field goal.
While the first half was picture perfect for Texas Tech on both offense and defense, Texas Tech’s Behren Morton faced a massive roadblock, exiting the game with an apparent shoulder injury. Morton was assessed for the same injury in the first half as well, but was cleared to play shortly before the injury flared up again.
There have been no updates on Morton’s status for the rest of the game as the Red Raiders will now work to defend the 10-point lead with the score now standing at 13-3 halfway through the third quarter.
Devon Dampier on the other hand has seen limited success for Utah, putting up just 85 yards on 18 successful attempts including an interception. Dampier had a long touchdown taken away in the first quarter for an illegible man downfield penalty.
