“They Dumba** Going To Trade Him”: Steve Harvey Minces No Words On Shedeur Sanders’ Potential Future At Cleveland

Steve Harvey, a Cleveland Browns fan, didn’t mince words when discussing his favorite team on his most recent podcast appearance. The veteran comedian and television figure was upfront with the Browns’ current quarterback situation when he came on the Pivot Podcast.

At 68, he vividly remembers sitting on the floor with his father at the age of seven in 1964 and watching Cleveland beat the Baltimore Colts. When discussing Cleveland’s current quarterback situation, Harvey is somewhat pessimistic when it comes to the Browns’ ability to handle a young talent like Sanders the right way.

“Now I am praying to God that Shadeur gets an opportunity to show what he can really do. And I think that would be probably the best thing for him. But knowing the Cleveland Browns, they dumbass going to trade him,” Harvey stated (1:49).

Harvey also expressed his concerns on the durability of the 40-year-old Joe Flacco due to his age whilst also talking about Dillon Gabriel.

“Joe Flacco will be playing a few games, but his old ass going to get hurt. You just can’t be 40 and run that fast away from all these people. So Joe Flacco going to get hurt,” he explained (0:31).

“Then we’re going to go to this white dude (Dillon Gabriel) that no one has ever heard of until draft day. We’ve never heard of him. Why Shadeur lasted this long in the draft is beyond me, but it’s okay, ” Harvey further elaborated (0:43).

Sanders currently sits third on the depth chart behind veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel and it will be interesting to see if he gets more playing team with the games to come this season.

How Sanders Fits Into The Browns’ Long-term Quarterback Plans

While the quarterback debate currently involves veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel, the Browns are working on a very different and longer-term project with Sanders, their other rookie QB.

Sanders, who was drafted in the 5th round by the Browns after he reportedly rejected the opportunity to be drafted by the Baltimore Ravens to avoid being the backup behind Lamar Jackson, is now the team’s third-string QB and recognized as a true developmental project.

CBS analyst Ross Tucker said Sanders gets daily reps meant for his development and the staff would have zero expectations for him to see the field this season with any success unless an enormous number of injuries occur.

Fans did get a chance to see a glimpse of Sanders’ potential at the highest level in the first pre-season game vs. the Carolina Panthers, where he passed for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sanders was limited in the second game because of an oblique injury sustained during joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles in mid-August.
