Former LSU Tigers star and now Chicago Sky stalwart Angel Reese is all smiles after the success of her first-ever signature shoe release. On Thursday, Sept. 18, Reese posted a video of herself and her newly-released “Angel Reese 1” signature sneaker with global sports brand Reebok, which is led by four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal, on her Instagram account.
Reese included a heartfelt caption to celebrate, as the 2023 NCAA champion confirmed that the three launch colorways of the Angel Reese 1 were sold out, to her and Reebok’s delight. In the reel, Reese’s highlights from the 2025 WNBA season are shown, while clips of her sneaker, off-court fits, and her journey from high school to LSU to the WNBA are artistically showcased.
“I’m in full tears right now 🥺 Taking a leap of faith and launching three of my signature shoes at once was a huge risk — but guess what? They all sold out! I’m sooooo THANKFUL & beyond GRATEFUL and just want to thank everyone for the amazing support. REEBOK IS BACK! 🤍👟,” Reese captioned with different emojis.
Reese’s second campaign in the WNBA ended recently, as coach Tyler Marsh’s Chicago squad finished dead last in the Eastern Conference with a 10-34 record. They failed to qualify for this year’s playoffs. Reese averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, as she now heads into her third offseason as a WNBA player.

Shaquille O’Neal Reposts Angel Reese’s Launch Day Post On His Instagram Stories
Along with Angel Reese celebrating the successful release of her inaugural signature sneaker, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal poured in support for his fellow LSU Tigers alum. O’Neal did this by sharing Reese’s post about her signature sneaker on his Instagram stories on the same day. In the reel, Reese is seen posing with the Reebok Angel Reese 1 in the “Mebounds” colorway.
Reese is then seen in the artistic reel posing in pink sportswear, such as compression tops and bottoms, to match one of the released pairs of the Angel Reese 1. Thursday, Sept. 18, also served as the official launch date for the sneaker, as it was sold out just hours after the release. O’Neal has been a proactive ambassador of the brand for decades now.
