Top 10 CJ Stroud Jokes As Houston Falls in 1-point MNF Loss To Tampa Bay

After a dramatic fourth quarter, CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans ended up one point short in the 20-19 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. After the first three quarters, Houston was trailing by four points.

They opened the final quarter with a 53-yard successful field goal attempt to make the game 14-13. Houston then took the lead as Stroud handed the ball to Nick Chubb, who ran 25 yards to score. However, with just six seconds left, Tampa Bay’s Rachaad White reached the endzone to score a two-yard rushing touchdown to cap off quarterback Baker Mayfield’s 11-play, 80-yard drive.

Fans online started to blame Stroud for the loss. Instead of going for an extra point, the Texans opted for the 2-point conversion attempt after Chubb scored the touchdown in the final quarter. Stroud couldn’t make good on it as he was sacked. Had a field goal been scored, the game would’ve been tied.

Fans came up with a variety of jokes, and we have stored some of the best for you.

CJ Stroud’s Stats in Week 2 Loss vs Bucs

CJ Stroud turned heads in his rookie season, but his third season in the NFL is off to a disappointing start. Stroud lost his second straight game Monday night by just one point.

He completed 13 of 24 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown. However, he was sacked three times, especially that 2-point conversion sack, which proved to be the difference. As compared to his Week 1 loss to the Rams, it was a much better showing, but the result didn’t change.

In the Week 1 loss to the Rams, Stroud threw an interception and had a rating of 74.3. Despite the loss, Stroud chose to focus on the positives.

“What are we gonna do? Sit around and cry about it,” he said. “It’s the NFL. It’s part of the game. We played really bad and we still had a chance to win. That shows to our team how talented we are and how good we can be.”

After two close losses, the Texans will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars before returning home for the game against the Tennessee Titans.
