Former UConn Huskies star and now Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers was recently called out on social media for her fashion sense by a prominent figure. On Friday, Sept. 12, former NFL wide receiver for teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Antonio Brown, posted a photo of Bueckers on his X/Twitter with a subtle jab in his caption.
The photo shows Bueckers in a pregame outfit, and many, including Brown, opined that her fit is more appropriate for a teenage male skater. The 23-year-old wore an oversized light pink, short-sleeved button-up, baggy denim shorts, white socks, a pair of white Nike Air Max 90s, and a black duffel bag with patches of her number and team logos. Brown referenced the video game franchise of legendary skater Tony Hawk in his caption.

Fans online joined in to mock Bueckers in support of Brown’s sarcastic jab at her fashion sense.
“Who’s the teenage boy?,” one user asked.
“She raided Goodwill for those clothes,” another user claimed.
“What is fashion now? This was just in every dad’s closet growing up and even they didn’t think it was cool,” another pointed out.
“She is so cute and adorable. Why does she dress like a nine-year-old boy?” a fan said.
A few X users defended Bueckers.
“She’ll still give you a bucket though AB, keep it a bean,” one fan shared.
“That’s bae, for real, chill,” another fan wrote.
“Bruh you have no chill 😂😂 funny as f*ck,” a fan posted with a couple of laughing emojis.
Nevertheless, the takes on Bueckers’ fashion sense have not affected her Rookie of the Year-worth campaign that the Hopkins, Minnesota, native has uncorked in the 2025 WNBA season. Brown is the co-owner of the indoor football team, Albany Empire. He retired from the NFL in 2021 after winning his lone Super Bowl title.
