LOOK: Jonathan Owens and Wife Simone Biles Share Special Sideline Pregame Kiss Ahead of Lions Showdown

Jonathan Owens’ Chicago Bears are back in action after a disappointing start to their season. In Week 1, they fell short against the Minnesota Vikings, leaving plenty of questions about both sides of the ball. Now, the challenge only grows steeper.

Today, they line up against division rivals, the Detroit Lions, in what promises to be a physical NFC North clash. As the team prepared for kickoff, there was a lighter moment that drew plenty of attention.

Simone Biles, one of the most decorated gymnasts in history, was at Ford Field to support her husband, Jonathan Owens. Cameras caught the couple meeting on the sidelines before the game. They shared a few kisses and posed for photos, a warm display before Owens shifted focus back to football.

Adding another layer of wholesomeness to the already cute moment was Biles’s outfit. She had Owens’ name engraved on her pants in big letters. Biles has become a regular presence at Bears games since Owens joined Chicago.

Her support has often been highlighted on game days, and her sideline moment with Owens added a personal touch to the pregame build-up. Owens, now in his second season with Chicago, will look to bounce back after the defense struggled to contain Minnesota in Week 1.

The Bears are aiming to avoid a 0-2 start, something that could set the wrong tone for their season. With the Lions posing a tough test, all eyes will be on Chicago’s adjustments. The Lions, on the other hand, are fighting the same battle.

Their season has been disappointing so far, losing three of four preseason games and losing their season opener against the Green Bay Packers.

Jonathan Owens Didn’t Know Who Simone Biles Was

Biles is arguably one of the most decorated athletes in Olympic history. There hasn’t been a better gymnast in sports history. And that domination has brought her worldwide fame, but Owens claims he didn’t know who she was when they first matched.

During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast in 2023, Owens opened up about how they first met and started dating.

“I didn’t know who she was at the time, but like, the first thing I saw was she’s got a bunch of followers, so in my mind, I’m like, she gotta be good,” he SAID. (From 10:38)

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college, and we didn’t have NBC. We didn’t have Olympics channels and we’re in camp. We’re in camp in late July, early August,” he said. “So, I’m not paying attention…I’m like, ‘Lemme see who this is.’ I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity.”

Even though Owens was telling his truth with Biles present in the studio, he received a lot of flak for his comments. Many fans thought that he was being disrespectful toward her. But the truth is, Biles didn’t feel that way, and considering they’re still going strong, his comments didn’t bother her.
