Jacksonville Jaguars might be placing too much trust in Heisman winner Travis Hunter, according to fans, after a recent display during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals cost them dearly.
With 4:53 remaining in the first quarter of Sunday’s game, quarterback Trevor Lawrence tried to find Hunter in the end zone. However, the Colorado product couldn’t isolate himself as Bengals cornerback Daxton Hill came up with an interception in the endzone.

Hunter drew the ire from fans after Jaguars suffered once again while targeting the two-way star. One fan put it bluntly:
“Whenever the Jags decide to stop forcing the ball to Travis Hunter, the offense might actually start working.”
“That’s twice Trevor has underthrown Travis for a TD now,” one fan wrote.
Some fans blamed Lawrence on his inability to convert that offensive drive.
“Bad ball by Trevor Lawrence 🤷♂️” another fan wrote.
“The pressure got real” one fan wrote.
“What’s with the audio/video on the Pats game. Keeps cutting off stopping and starting. Very annoying,” one fan got frustrated about something entirely else.
“Trevor is not good,” one fan commented. “Change my opinion.”
“This is why we throw to BJT buddy,” another fan opined.
The Jaguars lead the game 14-7 with more than 10 minutes remaining to halftime. Before that interception from Lawrence, he found Dyami Brown on a nine-yard touchdown pass to take the 7-0 lead.
With less than a minute remaining, the Bengals tied the game with quarterback Joe Burrow connecting with Ja’Marr Chase on a 4-yard touchdown pass. In the first two minutes of the second quarter, Lawrence threw another dime for an 8-yard touchdown pass to Bhayshul Tuten.
Meanwhile, Travis Hunter has caught three receptions for 22 yards.

How Did Travis Hunter Perform In His NFL Debut?
Travis Hunter, who won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, was picked seventh overall by the Jaguars in the 2025 NFL draft.
Hunter made his NFL debut when the Jaguars defeated the Carolina Panthers 26-10. In that game, Hunter played 42 snaps on offense, catching 6 passes for 33 yards. He also played 6 defensive snaps (as a cornerback).
After the game and leading into Week 2, Hunter seemed satisfied with his production.
“I did my job,” Hunter said. “That was the main focus. I did what they asked me to do. I know I can do more and I know I can do better.”
It remains to be seen if Hunter can help the Jaguars make the playoffs this season.
