After a series of big Week 3 events, the market for the Heisman Trophy starts to get a bit clearer. Week 3 led to several players moving up and down the list of potential Heisman picks. Here’s a rundown on the odds’ biggest winners and losers after Week 3.

Potential Heisman Odds Winners and Losers

Winners
Gunner Stockton (15-1)
The young QB had a fair share of skeptics around him, but Stockton pulled Georgia’s ninth straight win over Tennessee. The alleged game manager was 23-for-31 for 304 yards and two scores with no interceptions. In the young season, the junior passer has now thrown for 721 yards and five touchdowns. Stockton also has 124 yards and three scores on the ground. But his leadership in his first-ever road start was the biggest story.
Marcel Reed (15-1)
Reed stayed cool and delivered an epic 41-40 victory over Notre Dame. He’s seeing his Heisman stock rise accordingly. Reed passed for 360 yards and two scores in Week 3. Reed has 869 yards passing and nine touchdowns so far. He did throw his first interception of the season, but represented the Aggies very well in the upset. If he can land A&M in the CFP, Reed could indeed be a very viable Heisman pick.
Joey Aguilar (16-1)
Aguilar was valiant in defeat for the Vols, passing for 371 yards and four touchdowns against a Georgia defense that slows even the toughest of offenses to a crawl. Aguilar has now passed for 906 yards and nine TDs. If he can keep Tennessee in the CFP picture throughout the season, Aguilar may well be a player who sees his Heisman chances continue to improve throughout the lengthy 2025 season.
Losers
Cade Klubnik (80-1)
One of the preseason favorites for the Heisman, after a 1-2 start, Klubnik is basically off the radar on that front. Klubnik passed for 207 yards with a score and a pick in a Week 3 loss to Georgia Tech. So far, Klubnik has passed for 633 yards with three touchdowns against three interceptions. Unless Clemson climbs into the race, Klubnik’s numbers will seem kind of irrelevant… not that they’ve been great so far.
Arch Manning (35-1)
Manning was expected to be one of the best players in the nation, but as of yet, he just hasn’t come through. Week 3 included 10 consecutive incomplete passes from Manning at one point. Texas took down UTEP, but Manning was 11-for-25 for 114 yards with a score and a pick. He has thrown for just 579 yards with six scores and three interceptions. Tougher competition probably won’t make Manning’s life easier anytime soon.
DJ Lagway (180-1)
First, Florida is awful, likely headed for a losing season. Only one player ever, the great Paul Hornung, managed to win a Heisman Trophy despite playing for a team with a losing record. But beyond that, Lagway threw five interceptions in Week 3. For the season, he’s now at five touchdowns to six picks. Suffice it to say that it’s not exactly a Heisman Trophy stat line for Lagway. Add that to UF’s poor play, and Lagway has faded fast.
