Texas Tech vs Oregon State Picks, Predictions, Depth Chart, More (September 13)

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have remained undefeated after two games, while Oregon State remains winless. The Beavers seek to upset the Red Raiders on Saturday and finally get their first win of the 2025 season. However, that is easier said than done, as Texas Tech will be coming into the game as overwhelming favorites.

This raises the question: do the winless Beavers have a chance against the red-hot Red Raiders?

For the Red Raiders, QB1 Behren Moore has been very consistent in their first two games, as he has now thrown for 459 yards with 46 attempts and 34 completions, leading to seven touchdowns. He will be leading the attack against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday and will certainly be one to watch out for.

So far, Texas Tech has been more of a rushing team, with running back Adam Hill leading the way with 205 rushing yards in the first two games, and he did it on 23 carries. On the receiving side, wide receiver Reggie Virgil would be the player to watch out for, as he is tied in most receiving yards at 106, but has nine carries, as opposed to teammate WR Coy Eakin, who also has 106 but with six receptions. They will be Moore’s main targets.

As for the Beavers, QB1 Maalik Murphy has been throwing a lot of bombs, though he has yet to convert these into any wins. He has thrown a total of 615 yards so far for the 0-2 Beavers on 81 attempts and 52 completions. He likes to do the passing game, and he has had four touchdowns so far.

His favorite target so far is Trent Walker, who has had 16 receptions and leads Oregon State with 235 receiving yards in their first two games, though he has yet to score a touchdown. On the rushing side of things, running back Anthony Hankerson leads the team with 178 rushing yards on 48 carries.
