Ryan Staub and the Colorado Buffaloes are struggling in their Week 3 encounter against the Houston Cougars. Going into halftime, the Cougars lead the Buffaloes 16-14 in both teams’ Big 12 conference opener. While Colorado managed a second-quarter response to the 13 unanswered points that Houston scored in the first quarter, the worry is that Ryan Staub hasn’t been performing to the standard expected.
Ryan Staub on his decision to stay at Colorado:
“I had a dream…”
Coach Prime: Martin Luther Staub he had a dream 😂😂

Staub was named the team’s Week 3 starter to much fanfare after he was the school’s leading passer in a 31-7 victory over Delaware. Some analysts opined that a Coastal Athletic Association Football Conference program wasn’t the proper opponent for Deion Sanders to evaluate the effectiveness of his quarterbacks, but he decided to go ahead and bench Kaidon Salter.
Now, with Staub struggling against a Big 12 opponent, the fans are reacting and calling for him to be benched.
“Coach prime it’s time to bench Ryan Staub we need someone else,” claimed someone.
“Man put staub on the bench please,” begged someone else.
Others joked about Deion Sanders’ hyperbole from the victory against Delaware in Week 2.
“Lmao might be time for Prime to bench Martin Luther Staub 💀,” joked someone.
Others seem to think Deion Sanders won’t bench the quarterback.
“lol prime ego won’t allow him to bench staub I promise you that hahahah 😂😂😂😂,” said one person.
Some people just find the entire situation hilarious.
“Ryan staub Getting called Martin Luther Staub after playing well off the bench vs a glorified d3 team then getting named qb1 over 2 guys who got a million dollars to come to Colorado is hilarious in hindsight,” pointed out someone.

Ryan Staub Recovers From a Poor First Quarter Against Houston
It’s safe to say that Ryan Staub didn’t have a good first quarter against Houston. Halfway through the second half, Staub had only recorded 51 passing yards. He had no touchdown passes, and his completion percentage was 61.5%.
His numbers improved dramatically in the latter half of the second quarter, with him finishing the half with 120 passing yards and a completion percentage of 66.6%. While he didn’t score a touchdown, the faster pace he put on the offense allowed them to drive up the field to score two rushing touchdowns.
However, during a 19-yard run which ended at Houston’s 19-yard line, Staub fumbled the ball, which was recovered by tight end Zach Atkins, who picked it up and carried it into the endzone.
