The Wake Forest Demon Deacons suffered their first loss of the season in Week 3 as they went down against the NC State Wolfpack 34-24. This came after Wake Forest jumped to a 14-0 lead and 24-14 at different instances of the game, but their defense allowed the Wolfpack to stage a comeback and gift away a win.
Wake Forest fans online were left livid and frustrated, seeing their team and quarterback Robby Ashford succumb under pressure.

They started reacting to the above post, with one fan calling for Ashford to vacate his spot.
“Robby Ashford should never see the field again,” the fan wrote.

“24-14 and you lose the game nice job guys,” one fan commented.
“Time to tank now 🤣🤣🤣,” one fan has already given up hope mid-season, believing this season may already be lost.
“This team is going to choke this game again watch,” another predicted before the game was over.
“Should have known this was coming after a 10-9 win vs Kennasaw 😂😂😂,” one fan opined that Wake Forest wins only when opponents are struggling.
“#23 is the worst DB I’ve ever seen,” one fan wrote.
“Aint done nothing since the 1st half on offense and defense cant stop the run,” another posted.

Wake Forest Collapses Against NC State
Wake Forest started the game strong after wide receiver Chris Barnes returned a 98-yard kick for a touchdown. They doubled up after Demond Claiborne scored the rushing touchdown to take the lead to 14-0.
NC State tied the game before the first quarter ended. QB1 CJ Bailey connected with Justin Joly on a five-yard touchdown pass before Isaiah Shirley caught a 41-yard interception and scored the touchdown.
To begin the second quarter, Wake Forest added 10 points, thanks to Robby Ashford’s touchdown, followed by Connor Calvert making good on a 28-yard field goal attempt. The Wolfpack cut the deficit by three points after their kicker was successful in a 24-yard field goal attempt.
The Wolfpack tied the game at 24-24 in the third quarter after Justin Joly caught another touchdown pass for Bailey. Wake Forest’s struggles on both offense and defense continued as the Wolfpack added 10 unanswered points to win the game 34-24.
