Coach Prime Sends Clear Message On Former 4-Star Recruit Ahead Of Week 3 Showdown vs Houston: “Got A Surprise For Him”

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is keeping fans engaged with his latest comments about defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain. The former four-star recruit has been steadily earning recognition within the program.

Sanders hinted that a bigger opportunity is on the horizon as the Buffaloes gear up for their Week 3 clash against the Houston Cougars on Sept.12.  As per Coach Prime, Davis-Swain will have a bigger role at hand.

Scott Procter, Buffaloes reporter, posted Sanders’ comment on X.

“We got a surprise for him this week,” Coach Prime said, as per Procter. “I hope he didn’t disclose that, but we got a surprise for him. He’s been doing well, and we’re gonna extend his role.”

Brandon Davis-Swain arrived in Boulder as one of the most touted recruits in his class, but his early role was limited. After a primarily developmental role last season, his time has arrived. The patience seems to have paid off.

For Sanders, the timing is important. The Buffaloes are still working on finding consistency up front, and Davis-Swain represents both untapped potential and youthful energy. His ability to disrupt plays and provide depth could be vital against a Houston team that thrives on tempo and creativity.

So far, the Buffs are 1-1 this season. They lost their season opener against Georgia Tech 27-20. Then they made a spectacular comeback in Week 2 against the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, registering a 31-7 victory.

Coach Prime Sets New Rules for His Players This Year

Coach Prime understands that his responsibility as a coach extends far beyond the boundaries of the football field. He is a very influential person, arguably one of the most influential coaches, and the world of American sports looks up to him.

So, his plan is to not only develop great players under Colorado’s program, but also to help shape their personalities, too. In an attempt to instill good values in his players that’ll make them stand out outside the sport, Deion Sanders issued a new set of rules.

“No slides,” Deion Sanders said. “I’m gonna send people to campus tomorrow. If I see you in slides on campus, it’s gonna be a problem. If I see you with a hoodie on in class with some headphones on in class, it’s gonna be a problem.”

Sanders made it clear that his players are not expected to showcase casual behavior in their education and appearance on campus. In case someone disobeys his rules, there might be consequences.
