Former UConn Huskies star and now Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers has teamed up with an incoming college basketball standout for an endorsement deal. On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Bueckers posted a video on her Instagram account that shows her with Oklahoma Sooners commit Aaliyah Chavez for a commercial for global financing company, Intuit, a corporation worth $186.48 billion (as per Forbes).
In the one-minute video, Chavez, whose NIL value is worth $1.5 million (as per On3), is seen interacting with Bueckers about Intuit for Education, the company’s venture to help students learn more about budgeting their finances. Bueckers and Chavez walked on a basketball court while discussing expensive purchases they have made.
“From buckets to budgets. Excited to pass it on to @the__aaliyah_chavez as she starts her college journey. @intuit for Education is helping students everywhere build confidence on and off the court. Check out @intuit for the full convo. #intuitpartner,” Bueckers captioned.
Bueckers is currently in her first year in the WNBA and has helped coach Chris Koclanes’ Wings to an overall record of 9-34 so far. They are the seventh seed in the Western Conference. The former Huskies guard is also leading the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year race so far, with averages of 19.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.6 steals a game, as the Wings look to close out their regular season on a strong note.
Chavez is looking to follow the path to stardom that Bueckers had from Hopkins, Minnesota, to UConn to now in the WNBA. Chavez is committed to playing for coach Jennie Baranczyk’s Sooners for her first year of college basketball in the 2025-26 season. Coming into collegiate hoops, Chavez is the consensus No. 1-ranked player among all five-star recruits in the nation, as per 247Sports.
Paige Bueckers Asks Aaliyah Chavez How Her College Experience Has Been So Far
Before Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Chavez talked about big purchases and budgeting for their commercial, Bueckers asked the latter about her college life so far.
“It’s your first year in college, how’s it going so far?,” Bueckers asked.
Chavez replied:
“It’s good so far. You know, it’s been fun. The team’s great, practices have been good, so it’s been a lot of fun.
Bueckers is coming off a 2024-25 season with the Huskies in which she won a national title in her final year, a feat that Chavez will look to accomplish in her time.
After wrapping up her high school hoops tenure at Monterey High School, Chavez will now join coach Jennie Baranczyk’s Oklahoma Sooners, who finished the recently-concluded campaign with an overall record of 27-8 (11-5 SEC).
