Arch Manning’s performance against San Jose State reignited talk around the Texas quarterback. Despite throwing for nearly 300 yards and scoring four touchdowns, some viewers focused less on the numbers and more on his expressions during the game.
At one point, cameras caught Manning grimacing as he released the ball, and speculation quickly spread that he may be playing through a shoulder issue. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian shut those rumors down and dismissed any suggestion of an injury.
“He doesn’t have any,” Sarkisian told a reporter. “I don’t know. I’ve never filmed any of you guys when you’re using the restroom. So, I don’t know what faces you make when you’re doing that.”
Sarkisian’s explanation, however, became just as much of a talking point as the rumors themselves. Instead of offering a standard injury update, he leaned into humor, downplaying the concerns in a way that immediately drew comparisons to the colorful media presence of Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy.
“Sark is slowly turning into Mike Gundy before our eyes,” a fan wrote.

“Is he saying Arch is sh*tting his pants as he throws ?” a fan wrote.“Hold on while I go record myself in slo mo throwing a football,” another commented.
“What does me taking a piss have to do with Arch looking like he’s grimacing while throwing?? What a corn ball,” a fan posted.
“What an odd response to that question,” a fan wrote.
“Such a strange quote lmao,” another opined.
While the reaction from the coach might not please everyone, the message was clear: Manning is fine. His outing against San Jose State backed that up. He bounced back from a rough debut against Ohio State by commanding the Longhorns’ offense with poise and efficiency.

Coach Prime and Tom Brady Offered Advice to Arch Manning After First Loss
Arch Manning started this season as QB1, the first time in his collegiate career. There were a lot of expectations riding on the 21-year-old’s shoulders, but they fell flat after the Ohio game. The Longhorns lost 7-14, and Manning was ridiculed for his poor performance.
While the internet was going after him, two football legends offered their advice for the young star. Deion Sanders and Tom Brady both had encouraging words for him. During a conversation with Romi Bean, Coach Prime told Manning to just be himself.
Drawing reference from what he tells his sons, Coach Prime said that Manning will have to learn how to block the noise and pull himself out of losses.
Brady, on the other hand, told Manning to always look for positives, even in losses. The NFL legend stated that even though Manning didn’t have a good game, he should look back at it and see how he can use the failure to his advantage.
Sure enough, Arch Manning bounced back with a commendable performance in the second game.
