In one of the biggest upsets of the season, Louisville just downed the then-No. 2-ranked Miami Hurricanes, and it has quarterback Carson Beck and his team reeling. The Cardinals won 24-21 after the Hurricanes missed a possible game-tying field goal late in the game. Miami’s quarterback, Carson Beck, was intercepted four times during the game and seemingly threw his teammates under the bus and blamed them for the interception.
However, former Heisman-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel was not very impressed by this, with Manziel calling Beck out during his appearance on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson’s “Nightcap” podcast. There, the former Texas A&M star stated that he placed beck on his “sh*t list” because of what he did.
“I f*ck with every quarterback that’s going out and living their dream and playing on Saturdays. Every single one of them. Carson Beck, you’re on my sh*t list a little bit right now after what you did this week, but I still love you. I’m still going to see you in the club live on Sunday, I’m sure,” he said. (2:31)
During the play in question, Beck reportedly told reporters that his pass-catcher ddi not run the correct route, and this had him face pressure, and he had to get rid of the ball, thus leading to the interception. That pass-catcher was reportedly Elija Lofton.
Miami came in as the overwhelming favorites, as they were undefeated coming into the game, while the Cardinals had already suffered one loss earlier in the season. Beck was clearly frustrated during the game, and blamed some of his misplays on “miscommunication” while also blaming some of his teammates while saying it was the “wrong play.”

Mario Cristobal Disappointed After Carson Beck and Miami Lost vs. Louisville
With all the momentum in the world, many believed that Miami should have won that game against the Louisville Cardinals. However, several misplays and interceptions have forced the Hurricanes to their first loss of the season, and head coach Mario Cristobal voiced his disappointment during the post-game press conference.
“That’s a really poor job of execution and discipline,” he told reporters. “That’s all of us — every player and every coach. After having some really good performances and working really hard in practice, that’s really disappointing. We’re all disappointed. We’re all pissed.”
After the loss, the Canes slid down the rankings from No. 2 to No. 9, while Louisville was finally ranked in the Top 25 at No. 19.
