The Indiana Fever find themselves in a bother. There is worry around playoff qualification, and to make matters worse, vexing news has hit them. Fever announced on Friday that Caitlin Clark is set to miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Fever superstar suffered a right groin injury towards the end of Indiana vs Connecticut. The Fever did manage to win that game, but their record has been flaky ever since. Clark picked up the injury mid-July, and the Fever have lost 10 games and have been on a losing streak of 2 now. Despite her importance for the team and also the whole of WNBA, Clark faced a few negative comments from fans.

“She will be on the bench, harassing the refs and the opposing team.” A fan unloaded.
“Her new name turnover Tammy Simmons”, another fan mocked.
“The fever play better without her”, fan claimed.
“Moving on. Fever are better w/o her”, another agreed.
“I’m crackin up.” one user was ruthless.
“Nobody caresssss”, another user claimed.
Clark is no rookie when it comes to hate comments. Her steep rise to success has always invited negative comments. Popularity often comes with criticism and Clark has managed herself well around that. Rival fans certainly seem content with Clark’s absence.
Basketball world unites in support of Caitlin Clark
While there was some negativity among the fans, Clark found a lot of support from the sporting world. Both NBA and WNBA stars extended their sympathies for the horrific news. LeBron James and Sabrina Ionescu were among noted stars.

“Minor set back for a MAJOR COMEBACK!!! Rest up, get healthy and be you”, LeBron shared.
“You got this!!”, Sabrina commented.
“So sorry but I know this decision will be the best for your future”, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie also extended her support.
“Love you CC, I’m proud of you”, Kate Martin showed love for her ex-Iowa teammate.
Apart from Martin, other Iowa players also made sure to send strength towards Clark. It’s never easy for athletes to miss the game they love. It can take a huge toll physically as well as mentally. Especially when an injury like Caitlin Clark’s forces an absence of the whole season.
The WNBA misses its powerhouse. But one thing’s for sure that Caitlin Clark will make an even bigger comeback when she steps back on the court next season!
