Dallas sports fans just cannot seem to take a break, because less than a year after the shocking Luka Doncic trade that sent Mavericks fans into a revolt, it was the Cowboys‘ turn to anger the fans. Micah Parsons, who is still in his prime and seen as one of the players who would possibly lead the Cowboys out of their nearly 30-year Super Bowl drought, was traded to the Green Bay Packers.
The trade came following a reported contract dispute with owner Jerry Jones. As expected, a lot of Dallas fans were not happy, especially with the Luka Doncic trade happening just eight months prior to the Mavericks.

“Someone said Jerry and Nico going Band for Band,” said one fan.
“Dallas sports cooked perfectly like the way bbq brisket is cooked. Shake a little bit and the meat comes off immediately,” noted another commenter.
“MAKE IT STOP,” another fan added.
Despite the fan backlash, there were also some who were saying that this was a good decision, with some pointing out that both Parsons and Doncic were costing Dallas more than what they were actually worth.
“Possibly 47 million a year for Parsons, ehhhh I don’t blame Dallas,” said one person.
“Not me yall be safe tho .. tired of him pulling a disappearing act when it matters. We dc what u do against non playoff teams,” noted another person.
“Jerry got two first rounders and god knows Jerry knows how to draft so it’s a win for him,” another one pointed out.
In that trade, the Cowboys received two first-round draft picks for 2026 and 2027, as well as defensive tackle Kenny Clark. As for Micah Parsons, he will reportedly receive a four-year, $188 million deal with the Packers, which he is expected to sign. $136 million of that is guaranteed, according to reports.

Jerry Jones Claims Micah Parsons Trade Was to Make the Dallas Cowboys More “Successful” in the Playoffs
The criticisms and fan backlash from the Micah Parsons trade have not fazed owner Jerry Jones, however, as he explained during a press conference on Thursday, shortly after the trade was revealed.
“This was a move to get us successful in the playoffs,” he told reporters.
Jones added that this will make the Cowboys “better on defense” and was a “deliberate move.” The move seems to be a long-term one, given the two first-round draft picks that Dallas is receiving for Parsons, with the Cowboys now having to try and get to the playoffs for the first time without one of their top stars.
