Deion Sanders’ ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, questioned the ejection of her son, Shilo Sanders, in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ last preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Sanders, who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buccaneers, needed a strong performance in the team’s final preseason game against the Bills.
However, during the second quarter of the game, a physical scuffle between him and Bills tight end Zach Davidson continued for 15 yards before safety Sanders threw a punch at Davidson, leading to an immediate ejection, and he was waived by the team the next day.
Almost a week after the said ejection, his mother, Pilar, questioned the ejection, saying why the refs did nothing for the first 15 years when Davidson was dragging Shilo Sanders with force. She reposted a TikTok clip from Jaden Yonder and asked:
“Did Shilo deserve to get ejected for this?”
The video from Yonder defended Shilo and said:
“For 15 yards refs did nothing. Only after Shilo defends himself do refs throw flags, penalize, and eject only Shilo.
The ejection turned out to be pivotal for Shilo Sanders, as not only did he miss his chances of making it to the 53-man roster, but he was also waived by the team, leaving him without anyone for the rookie season.

How did stakeholders react to Shilo Sanders’ ejection?
While Pilar Sanders mocked the ejection, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles blamed Shilo Sanders for an “inexcusable” action.
“You can’t league—that’s inexcusable,” Bowles said. “They’re going to get you every time. You’ve got to grow from that.”
After being waived by the team, Sanders’ agents hope another team might claim him or possibly bring him to the practice squad. Shilo’s father and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders expressed support and said he’s “praying that he gets another opportunity in the NFL” but also has alternative plans in place.
“We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team, but if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward for what he’s going to do next,” Deion told reporters. “Shilo’s a man of many talents. I don’t know if you guys know, he’s a man of many talents, and he’s going to be straight. All the Sanders are going to be straight with or without football, you better believe that. You better believe that. I take care of mine, and I always have, and y’all know what I mean. And you better believe that.”
Meanwhile, Shilo expresses appreciation for his time in Tampa and affirms his faith that God has a plan, whether that includes another NFL path or not.
