Earlier this year, Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal Sarkisian, welcomed their son Xolo into the world. Xolo Sarkisian is the fourth child of the Texas Longhorns coach, and his first with Loreal Sarkisian. Sarkisian also has two daughters and a son named Brady Sarkisian, who plays for him at Texas.
This Wednesday on her YouTube channel, Loreal Sarkisian opened up about the hardships of pregnancy due to the sensitive nature of her process:
“I’ve got to be honest, I felt like I was robbed in so many ways, having to be on bed rest, but at the same time, if it was going to protect me and my son, that’s absolutely what I was going to do,” said Loreal (3:40)
Loreal Sarkisian’s pregnancy was a difficult one, and she had to stay in the hospital for a long period during the last phase of it. She was also rushed into surgery when the baby came prematurely.
The baby was born half a year after the couple jointly filed for divorce in July 2024, following a trying period in their relationship. However, Loreal and Steve eventually reconciled and are back together.

Steve Sarkisian on Texas’ season opener against Ohio State
The Texas Longhorns face a particularly tough season opener on Saturday night, as they take on the reigning national champions, the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes. Currently, the Longhorns are ranked the No. 1 team in the nation, but for their coach, it’s clear this will be the true test of their mettle.
During Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference, Sarkisian said the following about the upcoming game:
“I think at the end of the day, this is going to serve as a great barometer for us of where we’re at, the things we’re good at, the things we need to improve upon. Naturally, we’re going up there to try to win the ball game, but I also think that this one game won’t define our season,” Sarkisian said. “We’ve got a lot more games to go play, not only non-conference but in-conference play with some hopes of postseason aspirations.”
The game is set for Saturday at 12 pm ET, and will be played in Columbus, Ohio. Currently, the Buckeyes are 1.5-point favorites. It’s safe to say that the game is almost a toss-up for the bookies. The game will air on Fox.
