Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson‘s fiancée and former Miami Hurricanes guard, Haley Cavinder, recently congratulated a friend she made during the summer. On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Cavinder reposted a previous carousel post on her Instagram story, which shows her on a night out with global pop star Taylor Swift.
The reason why Cavinder reposted the clip was to congratulate Swift on her recent announcement that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Earlier in the day, Swift posted on her Instagram feed through a joint upload with Kelce, revealing that they are engaged. She wrote:
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” with a dynamite emoji.
The post has garnered reactions from all over the world, given Swift and Kelce’s popularity, collecting 22.2 million likes and over eight million re-shares. This includes Cavinder, who captioned her Instagram story with a heartfelt message.
“Congrats to my idol and soon to be wifey,” Cavinder wrote with a ring emoji.

Cavinder finished her fifth and final year of collegiate hoops in the 2024-25 season with coach Tricia Cullop’s Hurricanes, which was her second year with the team. She helped the team finish with an overall record of 14-15 (4-14) alongside her twin sister in Hanna, but was not able to make it to any post-season tournaments.
In her last stint of college basketball, Haley Cavinder averaged 18.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. She now looks to her fiancé, Jake Ferguson, who is uncorking his fourth campaign in the NFL, all with the Cowboys, in the 2025 season.

Haley Cavinder and Jake Ferguson got engaged in April of this year
Perhaps Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce followed in Haley Cavinder and Jake Ferguson’s footsteps. In April of this year, the latter couple announced on Instagram that they were engaged. In contrast to Swift and Kelce’s garden-themed engagement photos, Cavinder and Ferguson had theirs on the white sands of the beach, as their joint post shows the moment Ferguson got down on one knee and asked Cavinder to be his wife.
Ferguson, much to the delight of Cavinder, will now enter his fourth season in the NFL in early September after he and the Cowboys finished the preseason with an overall record of 1-2.
