LSU Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson is officially reeling in her final start of training camp for college basketball with her program. On Monday, Aug. 25, Johnson posted a collage of photos with her coach, Kim Mulkey, on her Instagram stories, as the Tigers presumably started their training camp ahead of the 2025-26 season, which is Johnson’s fourth and likely final stint with the team.
In Johnson’s upload, the Savannah, Georgia, native is seen smiling and taking photos with Mulkey, while rocking a gray LSU shirt, black sweatpants, black and white sneakers, chains, and Tigers wristbands as accessories. In one photo, she showed four fingers, a hand sign she has long been linked with. Mulkey did the same in her bright gold LSU polo shirt, denim jeans, and sandals. Johnson included a three-word message to jumpstart her senior year.
“Last first day @coachkimmulkey @lsuwbkb,” Johnson wrote.
On April 13 of this year, Johnson announced that she will be playing her last year of collegiate hoops with Mulkey’s Tigers after rumblings of her entering the 2025 WNBA Draft. She will turn 22 in Nov. Barring any change, she will likely not play a fifth year with the Tigers.
In March 2023, Johnson, who was still in her freshman campaign, helped LSU win the national title under the tutelage of Mulkey, as they defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes by 17 points, 102-85. This was the program’s first NCAA championship in its history. Johnson and the rest of the Tigers will work towards winning a second one in the 2025-26 season.

Flau’jae Johnson reposts Mikaylah Williams’ upload of their last first day on her Instagram stories
Along with Kim Mulkey, Flau’jae Johnson’s teammate, incoming junior Mikaylah Williams, also posted about their ‘last first day’ of training camp. Johnson reposted this and responded to Williams’ heartfelt message. Johnson and Williams have been teammates in the LSU Tigers program for the last two years.
“First day of our last ride together @flaujae,” Williams captioned with emojis before Johnson reposted her upload and replied, writing, “Awe my sister, I love you 12 let’s rock,” with emojis.
Williams came to LSU a year after the program’s 2023 national championship run. Most recently, in the 2024-25 campaign, the Tigers were eliminated in the Elite Eight of the 2025 NCAA tournament by the UCLA Bruins through a 72-65 defeat.
