“Performance Was Horrendous”: Jason Whitlock Rips Into Shedeur Sanders Over Rams Showdown in Preseason Game 3

After making some noise with his impressive preseason game performance against the Carolina Panthers, Shedeur Sanders got an opportunity to show off his skills against the LA Rams during Saturday’s showdown.

However, things did not go as well as the first time, as Shedeur was seen struggling on the field during the matchup, especially in the second half of the game.

The ex Colorado star was sacked 5 times and lost over 41 yards while going just 3-of-6 passing for a mere 14 yards, which is why head coach Kevin Stefanski took Shedeur out of the game and showed him the bench, which caused a lot of debate on the internet.

Clapping back at those who refrain from criticising Shedeur Sanders, Jason Whitlock said in his latest podcast:

“Kevin Stefanski benched Shedeur Sanders because if you watch that second half, Shedeur Sanders was so terrible. His body language was so terrible. His ability to read the defenses was so terrible. His refusal to throw the ball away on time and to float out of the pocket and back up. You couldn’t evaluate the 10 other guys on the field. (20:35)

“The guy had five drives. I think that totaled a minus nine yards. His body language and energy was such a downer. And his performance was horrendous. He made it impossible for his other 10 teammates to put anything on tape of value. And so they took him out of the game. And with those same third and fourth string offensive linemen, Tyler Huntley took him downfield for the game-winning field goal. Created a scoring opportunity for them that Shedeur was unable to do.”

Shedeur Sanders Drops Heartfelt Statement Following Rams Performance Havoc

Shedeur Sanders’ NFL journey has not been easy. To start off his career, he was met with a shock, when instead of going in the first 10 picks, he slid to the fifth round and went as the 144th overall pick.

Sanders has since then focused on getting better at football and making a place for himself in the Browns roster be it at rookie mini camp or training camp.

Reflecting on his progress after the preseason opportunities, Shedeur Sanders wrote on Instagram:

“Thanks everyone for the 🧡 and support. There’s a lot to learn from this preseason, but I’m really thankful for the opportunity to be out there. Day by day, rep by rep, I’ll keep learning and getting better.”
