Kansas State was in for a rough start during their Week 0 loss to Iowa State in Ireland, as they not only lost the game, 24-21, but also had their star running back, Dylan Edwards, injured. In a now-deleted post on social media, Edwards admitted to receiving some hate messages on X, formerly Twitter, stating he was “disgusted and disappointed” by those sending him those hate messages.
Despite having a lot of hate messages sent towards him, Dylan Edwards also received some messages of support, including from the son of his former coach, Deion Sanders Jr. He replied to the now-deleted tweet and told the Kansas State star not to give up.
“Keep going up my brother!” wrote Deion Sanders Jr.

The running back went to Colorado and played under Deion Sanders at Boulder before transferring to Kansas State during his sophomore year.
Edwards was reportedly injured during Saturday’s game after a muffed punt early in that game. He was seen getting his left ankle wrapped on the sidelines before he went to the locker room. Here was what he said in that now-deleted tweet:
“For the doubters close to me and out of reach, I’d never be a person to quit on my teammates or do anything of that nature for attention and pride. If you truly know me, you know that I am a competitor. (sic) That loves the game of football,” he tweeted.
“I am truly disgusted and disappointed to the people that are sending hate messages and making fake theories about my character. I will be back. God makes no mistakes. The Rejected Will Be Respected,” he added.
Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman was shocked about Edwards suddenly getting injured, and he did not reveal any timeline for when the running back will return to the field.

Kansas State Struggled After Dylan Edwards Got Injured Vs. Iowa State
With one of their top running backs gone from the game, the Wildcats did not fare so well in Ireland, as they struggled in their ground game, as the team finished with only 110 yards and a touchdown.
Substitute running back Joe Jackson tried to keep their running game alive as he carried the ball 12 times, but only for 51 yards. He also lost a fumble.
While it is still not clear when Edwards will be back, the Wildcats are still scheduled to be in action on Saturday for Week 1 against FCS North Dakota.
