Philadelphia Eagles fans are lamenting the fact that they used their sixth-round draft pick to draft Kyle McCord. The former Syracuse quarterback had a dismal outing against the New York Jets on Friday, where he could only complete 15 of 35 passes for zero touchdowns against one interception while getting sacked two times.
His unsettling performance has many in the Eagles fandom calling out the quarterback in favor of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders who might miss it to make the NFL due to their crowded quarterback room.
“We should’ve moved up and got shadeur this man sorry asf 😭,” one fan wrote.

One fan accused the league of colluding so that the Eagles couldn’t get their hands on Shedeur Sanders, who was drafted in the fifth round.
“The NFL def colluded to keep Shedeur off the Eagles and it should be talked about more,” one fan said.
“My thoughts are Shedeur was an Eagle but the league had other plans.”
Other fans also chimed in as they feel McCord couldn’t live up to the expectations in his latest preseason game.
“Awful. He had a chance to step up and take the 3rd QB job and completely botched it. DTR isn’t the answer either. Inaccurate throws, bad reads, bad footwork at times.
BOOCHadelphia,” one fan added.
“Not great but I hope he’s the 3,” another fan thinks about McCord.
However, one fan thinks the Eagles didn’t surrounded the quarterback with enough quality players. The fan commented:
“I don’t necessarily care. Yes he was bad, but he was playing with the backups, PS, and guys who’ll be selling insurance next month. He’ll have a great oline, RB, WRs, and TE, so he should improve if he plays. Also, he’s fighting for the QB3 spot. Things have already gone wrong.”

Eagles Rookie QB Kyle McCord Faces Battle For QB3
The Eagles had rookie Kyle McCord play the entire game against the Jets so that he could prove himself to be worthy of third string quarterback behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee. Because of McKee’s finger injury, had McCord performed well, he stood a chance of making it to the team as the backup quarterback.
However, his 42.1 passer rating has nosedived his potential to QB3 and he now finds himself borderline on making it to the final 53-man roster which Eagles need to announce before Tuesday’s deadline.
Head coach Nick Sirianni offered a measured response after the game. He said:
“Yeah, uh, I think – again, like I said, Kyle has done some good things. And I thought he did some good things, played smart situational football today. Yeah, I mean, we’ll uh – I feel good about this roster as a whole and where we are right now. And, yeah, at all positions.”
It remains to be seen if McCord bounces back with a good performance whenever the opportunity arises with the Eagles.
