Jason Whitlock Makes Bold Claim On Message WNBA Is Trying To Send Against Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark might be the greatest prospect to ever grace the WNBA floor in the league’s 31-year history. Ever since her arrival, the league’s viewership and attendance records have skyrocketed, and Clark even proved her mettle right from her rookie year. But analyst Jason Whitlock believes the league and Clark’s team, the Indiana Fever, might be giving her pushback beyond comprehension.

In a recent episode of the show ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock‘, the veteran analyst said that the WNBA had a clear agenda against Caitlin Clark, with even the Fever lying complacent to it.

“The WNBA has made it clear, and the Indiana Fever, to me, has made it clear, ‘Hey, we’re not in this all together. Caitlin Clark has her team of people. We have our team of people, and we’re in a knockdown, drag-out war. We’re going to break Caitlin Clark.’ I think it is because, again, when you’ve gone 30 years and making money has never mattered, don’t expect in year 31 that money is going to matter now,” Whitlock said. With this, Whitlock also claimed that the WNBA must be pushing its agenda by sending a clear message to Caitlin Clark. He claimed that the league believes Clark does not fit into the set agenda of the league, which he described further while delivering his monologue.

“This is about a message we’re trying to send out. Here I go, I’ve got my tin foil hat on, but it’s just what I think. And to a lot of people, I won’t sound crazy. This league is about the LGBTQ and setting up lesbian women as icons for your children.”

In hindsight, many WNBA players and other analysts have also compared how Caitlin Clark gets ‘special treatment’ from the league, quite in contrast to what Whitlock says. Perhaps, this is a fresh take presented by Whitlock that puts many things about the league handling their stars into greater perspective for the fans.

Stephanie White gets frustrated addressing Caitlin Clark’s injury issue

On Aug. 21, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White spoke to a group of reporters about Caitlin Clark’s ankle injury. Clark has still been dealing with her groin injury since July, coupled with a bone bruise that was noted during a shootaround on Aug. 7.

Speaking to the media, Coach White was understandably quite frustrated with the situation and expressed her thoughts regarding the same.

“I think each time you have a tweak, or each time you have something else, it’s frustrating. But it’s kind of the nature of the business. When you are an athlete, you’re gonna have some of these injuries. This is really the first time in her career that she has had this string of bad luck, so to speak, if that’s what you want to call it,” White said. (3:27)

Besides the unfortunate situation, Stephanie White believes this is an opportunity for Caitlin Clark to grow. That’s because White isn’t the only one feeling frustrated with Clark’s absence. The impact of the same is reverberating across the Fever’s roster, which is now running on a thin spread.
