IN PICS: UConn HC Dan Hurley Enjoys Special Greece Holiday With Wife Andrea and Family During Offseason

Dan Hurley led the UConn Huskies to a national title last year, and now, he has finally got a well-earned vacation with his family. The champion head coach was seen enjoying the Greek islands, particularly Mykonos and Santorini, two of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe. His wife, Andrea Hurley, posted a collage of images of their Greek getaway on Instagram:

In the images, the family were seen chilling at the dockside and enjoying a boat ride, as well as taking a nice dip in the Mediterranean waters. A fitting moment to relax ahead of the many battles that UConn is set to face next season.

This vacation in Greece comes after Hurley made two big international signings as they prepare for the 2025-2026 season. The first is Uros Paunovic, a guard from Serbia, a well-known basketball country, and the second is Rrezon Elezaj, a center from Turkey. These are the latest international talents joining UConn, with Hurley previously signing German big man Eric Reibe from the Class of 2025.

While Paunovic and Elezaj are coming from their respective home countries, Reibe spent his high school days in the US and was a five-star recruit, ranked as one of the biggest centers in the Class of 2025. Hurley has built a reputation for developing excellent big men, and many are expecting big things for him and Elezaj.

Dan Hurley Reveals His Dad Wanted Him To Leave UConn To Coach a Prestigious NBA Team

Back on Aug. 14, Dan Hurley appeared on the “Inside College Basketball Now” podcast with John Rothstein. There, Hurley revealed an absolute shocker, as he revealed that he received an offer to coach the LA Lakers and that his father wanted him to take that job and leave UConn.

He was reportedly offered a $65 million contract by the Lakers and that Bob Hurley, his father, was urging him to take it.

“The thing with my dad is, at different points in my career, he’s advised us to make the move and take the job, and he never did. I always took my dad’s advice on career advancement with a heavy grain of salt, because he never left St. Anthony,” he said. “The one thing I don’t listen to Bob Hurley Sr. about is how to advance my career, because he never left his high school when he could have coached at any level.”

Hurley ultimately turned it down and stayed at Storrs, unwilling to make the cross-country move to LA.
