Azzi Fudd Opens Up About Relationship With JuJu Watkins, Olivia Miles, and Ta’Niya Latson at Basketball Summit

Azzi Fudd, JuJu Watkins, Olivia Miles, and Ta’Niya Latson are all part of the new generation of basketball stars. Soon, they’ll be seen in the WNBA, battling it out for their respective teams. Currently, they’re all part of the Unrivaled league.

The above-mentioned college basketball stars were a part of a 14-player group that signed NIL deals with Unrivaled earlier this year. After that, they all went to the Unrivaled summit, where they got a chance to practice with each other.

But it wasn’t all serious business during the summit. The players were seen making TikTok videos, going out, and having fun. During that time, some of them became close friends. During a recent conversation with Maria Clifton on “Around the W”, Fudd opened up about her new friends.

“I really enjoyed getting to know JuJu, Olivia Miles, and Ta’Niya,” Fudd said.

When asked if there were some special behind-the-scenes moments that fans didn’t get to see, Fudd said:

“I don’t know. I just feel like everyone has gotten along…I didn’t know what to expect coming in. Like, some people knew each other, some people didn’t, but I feel like everyone’s gotten along. Everyone has had a good time, and it’s been fun.”

The players who signed NIL deals with Unrivaled this year were, Lauren Betts (UCLA), Sienna Betts (UCLA), Madison Booker (Texas), Audi Crooks (Iowa State), Azzi Fudd (UConn), MiLaysia Fulwiley (LSU), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Flau’jae Johnson (LSU), Ta’Niya Latson (South Carolina), Olivia Miles (TCU), Kiki Rice (UCLA), Sarah Strong (UConn), Syla Swords (Michigan), and JuJu Watkins (USC).

Since they’re yet to compete against each other, Fudd stated that she believes the summit went really well.

Azzi Fudd detailed the highlights of the Unrivaled summit

Whenever athletes get together in a closed environment, they tend to make the most of their time by getting to know each other. It happens during the Olympics, the All-Star breaks, and Fudd got to experience the same during the Unrivaled summit.

Fudd said that the summit was great for a lot of reasons, but getting to know the players individually would probably be the highlight.

“Getting this opportunity to work out together, just hang out with each other, like get to know each other. Like, I don’t hate you right now, we’re not in the season. So, I get to know you. It’s been a lot of fun because these are girls that I’ve never been in a room with to interact besides on the court.”

Fudd said that the energy at the summit was infectious because she was surrounded by some of the best college basketball players in the country. And getting to practice with them, which often becomes a way to improve your own game, was the best part about it.
