“Very Depressed, Just Can’t Get Out”: Former TCU Star Sedona Prince Gets 100% Real On Mental Struggles

Sedona Prince has been playing outside of the US since her college career ended earlier this year. The former TCU star went undrafted in the 2025 WNBA Draft and also failed to secure an undrafted free agent contract. It was a surprising turn for a player who was named a First-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Defensive Team selection in 2025.

Moving to Greece, where she currently plays for Panathinaikos, has to be a tall order for her. Prince has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which puts her under unduly pressure in this difficult period of her career. On Monday, an Instagram video surfaced of her sitting with a brain disorder specialist, Dr. Daniel Amen, to speak about how she feels about her condition.

“I got a diagnosis about a year ago. Bipolar 2. Something will happen, I’ll crash, and then you know it’s a week of sleeping for 16 hours a day. Very depressed, just can’t get up. Can’t get out, very embarrassed. I just feel like I’m not in my body,” she said.

Prince had originally signed with Al Riyadi of the Women’s Lebanese Basketball League, but then moved to Greece to join Panathinaikos for the 2025-26 campaign of the Greek Women’s Basketball League.

Why wasn’t Sedona Prince drafted into the WNBA?

Probably the biggest reason behind Sedona Prince’s undrafted status is that she was seen as a risky move from a legal standpoint. In February, she was accused of sexual assault by a former girlfriend. This isn’t the first accusation of sexual violence against Prince, with others dating as far back as 2019.

At the time of her most recent accusation by a former girlfriend, Sedona’s attorney, A. Boone Almanza, told the Washington Post:

“Unfortunately, others have decided to use Sedona as a launch point for their careers. In an effort to create some relationship privacy, Sedona has asked girlfriends to sign nondisclosure agreements because their personal, intimate moments should not be the subject of public discussion.”

Texas Christian University also released a statement, saying:

“The university is aware of the allegations involving one of our student-athletes and is looking into the matter. In accordance with federal privacy laws, the university does not comment on student conduct matters”

While she was never removed from the school’s women’s basketball program, there was an online petition for her to be kicked out, which had more than 200,000 signatures.
