Ryan Wingo’s “Memorable Cookout” Gets Special Shoutout From Texas QB Arch Manning: “Hopefully I Get Invited To Some More”

Over the weekend, Arch Manning and his Texas Longhorns teammates flew to St. Louis for sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo’s annual youth football camp, which took place at Wingo’s former high school. The Longhorns QB1 was quite friendly at the event, engaging with the community and posing for the photos.

Manning was then greeted by Wingo’s family for a standout cookout in St. Louis. When asked if he was “valid at the cookout,” Manning replied:

“Am I valid at the cookout? Probably not. Yeah, probably no.”

The Longhorns quarterback appreciated the hospitality of Wingo’s family. He said:

“I just went to one recently in St. Louis. Shout out Ryan Wingo and his fam. Great food over there in St. Louis. We had a good time. That was the most memorable cookout I’ve ever been to. Hopefully I get invited to some more.”

Manning also shared his go-to pick for the cookout:

“Wings, for sure,” he said. “I’m kind of a lemon pepper guy.”

Pat McAfee raves about Arch Manning after another display of humility

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is one of the most talked-about quarterbacks entering the 2025 season. After backing up for two years for Quinn Ewers, Manning got limited opportunity to take the center stage. However, now that the job is officially his, he is making attempts by developing relationships with his teammates, leaving college football analyst Pat McAfee impressed.

Manning’s latest picture at Wingo’s annual football camp is doing the rounds on the internet. Reacting to the pictures and videos floated, McAfee praised Manning for his off-field activities.

“Arch Manning is awesome,” McAfee said on Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show. “Arch Manning is everything you want your starting quarterback to be… If he’s out and about with his teammates doing college, I love everything about it.

“Invited to the cookout! Wingo had a camp, and Arch Manning obviously went… and the fact that Arch Manning took time out of his life to be part of that camp, to be part of a community, to be part of a family—that’ll go a long way for the entire locker room.”

McAfee said that when someone as famous as Arch Manning tries to be grounded and makes an effort to remain in touch with his teammates, it just goes to show that Manning is not worthy only to be praised for how far and accurately he can throw.
