Jim Harbaugh’s Daughter, Grace Harbaugh Shares Classic “Blind Side” One Liner While Recapping Chargers vs Saints Memories

While “The Blind Side” has now turned into a controversial movie due to some major revelations, it is still a very popular one among football fans. Grace Harbaugh, daughter of LA Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, channeled Sandra Bullock’s Oscar-winning performance in the film as Ruth Slater and told the Chargers to finally play football instead of just doing trick plays.

“enough with the trick plays Burt, run the dang ball !” she wrote in her Instagram caption.

The Chargers won that game 27-13, with Grace Harbaugh also sharing pictures of herself and her family enjoying the preseason showdown.

The Michigan water polo standout mentioned that famous line, which has since become a popular TikTok meme among football fans, as it is often used to berate coaches for doing more fancy plays rather than actually trying to win the game. The line is often used by frustrated fans whenever they do not like a certain play.

As for the film that the quote is from, “The Blind Side,” it is based on the life of NFL great Michael Oher, who was “adopted” by the Touhy family and later went on to become a football legend. However, he has filed a lawsuit against the Touhy family, alleging that they did not really adopt him and instead profited from him and his life story. The Slater family in the movie is based on the Touhys.

Who Was the Target of Grace Harbaugh’s ‘The Blind Side’ Quote?

Given who her father is, many believe that Michigan water polo star Grace Harbaugh was not targeting her dad, Jim Harbaugh, for the drawn plays against New Orleans on Monday. It was instead not meant for a coach, but the team’s quarterback, Justin Herbert, or “Burt.”

Grace was reportedly urging Herbert to just “Run the dang ball!” Herbert did not play against the Saints, but is set to make his Chargers debut against the LA Rams on Sunday, Aug. 17. Jim Harbaugh has been very vocal about his support for Herbert, though he will be finding out how good that arm of his new QB actually is on Sunday.

It was Trey Lance who mostly played QB in the game against the Saints, leading the team with 48 rushing yards on seven attempts, as well as 55 passing yards. This solid performance ensures that the Chargers will still have a good quarterback if something does happen to Herbert.
