NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has often been very protective of his fellow LSU alum, Angel Reese, often defending her from critics. However, as NBA 2K revealed that the two LSU legends could team up in the front court, many fans were not very amused.

Several fans took to the comments section and voiced their disapproval for the feature, with many saying they do not care for this possible team-up in the game between the two LSU legends.
“Who asked for this,” asked one fan.
“They trolling us at this point,” opined another person.
“Not a single person wants to play as Reese ☠️☠️” added another Angel Reese critic.
Despite the harsh comments from some fans, there were also some who criticized those critics for always complaining, while others just wanted a game without all those microtransactions. There were also others who were just amused to see Shaq in a Chicago Sky jersey.
“We just want better gameplay and little to no micro transactions,” said one gamer.
“Yall be complaining for different stuff every year. They just trying to have a little fun with the IP. And yall whining about everything. 2K fans are insufferable stfu and enjoy something for a change lol. Not like anyone forcing you to play with WNBA players lol,” one fan pointed out.
“Why is Shaq in a sky jersey 😂,” another person commented.
The teaser was part of the promotion for NBA 2K26, which is scheduled for early access in Aug. 29. The feature that the post talked about was the fact that WNBA and NBA players can now play together for the MyTeam mode.
NBA 2K26 Fully Integrating WNBA Player Cards
The addition of WNBA Player Cards will be a first in franchise history, with popular players like Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers and Sabrina Ionescu being added. The update also allows not just NBA players and legends being playable in WNBA teams, but vice versa, as players can also add WNBA players to their NBA teams in MyTeam.
2K promised to keep the gameplay balanced when it comes to NBA and WNBA players, with attributes and badges working identically for both NBA and WNBA players. The game is also adding a WNBA Domination and new commentary from Kevin Harlan, Greg Anthony, and Stan Van Gundy.
