Hannah Hidalgo’s BTS in Black From Diana Taurasi “Legacy” Shoot Draws Two-Word Reaction From Irish Coach

Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Hannah Hidalgo garnered a two-word reaction from her coach, Niele Ivey, courtesy of a recent photo shoot. On Wednesday, Aug. 13, Hidalgo uploaded a series of photos on her Instagram account from a photoshoot she did for an event for WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, who retired from professional basketball earlier this year.

The carousel post shows Hidalgo posing in a black maxi dress with matching black, open-toed sandals, a black and gray basketball, and some jewelry. The next photo shows Hidalgo with a white purse, as she chats with Taurasi, followed by candid snaps of her close ones, including her mother, Tamara. The event was to commemorate Taurasi’s legacy, with several figures from women’s basketball in the early-August gathering.

“It’s easy celebrating a legend @dianataurasi congratulations on your legacy,” Hannah Hidalgo captioned the post.

Both Hidalgo and Ivey are coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which the Fighting Irish finished with an overall record of 28-6 (16-2 ACC). They then reached the Sweet 16 of this year’s national tournament, but were defeated by Hailey Van Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs by nine points, 71-62, putting an end to their national title hopes. They last won the title in 2108.

Hidalgo will enter her third year of collegiate basketball in the upcoming 2025-26 season to bring a national title to Notre Dame. For Taurasi, she will have her full docu-series, which includes the aforementioned event Hidalgo attended, released on Thursday, Aug. 14, on Prime Video and will highlight her storied basketball career from a star with the UConn Huskies to the impact she made on women’s basketball as a whole.

Hannah Hidalgo recently signed with Unrivaled as an NIL college basketball athlete

Much to the delight of her coach, Niele Ivey, and the rest of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish faithful, Hannah Hidalgo recently signed with Unrivaled as an NIL college basketball athlete, as per Yahoo Sports. This means that the Merchantville, New Jersey, native will often be seen in events of the three-on-three basketball league as an endorser and a personality.

She joins the 13 other collegiate hoops standouts that were recently signed, such as UCLA Bruins center Lauren Betts and UConn Huskies senior Azzi Fudd.
