Iowa’s Jada Gyamfi Drops 3-Word Message While Enjoying Caitlin Clark’s Fever Take On Chicago Sky

Caitlin Clark is only in her second year in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever. Despite that, she is already one of the biggest stars in the league. However, she has struggled with injuries this season, and as a result, she did not participate in the Fever’s 92-70 win over the Chicago Sky on Saturday.

While Clark did not play, her former Iowa teammate, Jada Gyamfi, watched the game. During the game, Gyamfi, who is still a member of the Hawkeyes, posted a picture on her Instagram story with a three-word message.

“Fev show x ISF,” Gyamfi wrote.

While the Fever were without Caitlin Clark in the game, they were able to defeat the Sky with relative ease. They jumped out to a 25-16 lead in the first quarter and held on for an eventual 92-70 win. In Clark’s absence, Kelsey Mitchell stepped up with a 26-point performance.

Gyamfi and Clark were teammates during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons at Iowa. Gyamfi has now been on the Hawkeyes for three years, but has struggled to establish herself as a rotational piece. This past season, she played all games, only averaging 1.7 points per game in four minutes of average playing time per game.

The Indiana Fever Bounce Back Without Caitlin Clark in the Lineup

Caitlin Clark has struggled with injuries throughout this season. She last played for the team on July 16 in a win over the Connecticut Sun. She has now been out of the lineup for 10 straight games with a groin injury.

On Monday, Fever head coach Stephanie White appeared on ESPN’s “NBA Today” and spoke about Clark’s recovery and return timeline.

“It’s day-to-day right now, we’re putting no timetable on it,” White said. “She is going through the rehab process, and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint and then get her back to basketball activities.

“So we’re taking it one day at a time, really slow rolling it, slow playing it this time… The most important thing for us is Caitlin’s long-term health and getting her back to 100% before we put her back on the floor.”

Despite not having Caitlin Clark in the lineup, the Fever have had a decent stretch of games. Since Clark got injured, the Fever have gone 6-4, including Saturday night’s win. The win broke a two-game losing streak, which came after winning five games in a row. They are back in action on Tuesday against Dallas.
