The struggles of Shedeur Sanders with the Colorado Buffaloes’ offensive line in 2023 and 2024 are well known. He was sacked a total of 94 times across two seasons, making him the most sacked quarterback in the nation during that period.
Not only did he have problems, but the team was barely able to run the ball. In 2023, they recorded 827 rushing yards, followed by 847 yards
Ryan Staub on how this year’s offensive line compares to CU’s offensive line the last two years.
“Man, this is one of then best looking lines I’ve seen since I’ve been here. I think we’re going to have a lot of time back there.”

Now it seems that the Buffaloes will finally have a reliable offensive line unit with quarterback Ryan Staub recently telling Colorado beat reporter Jake Schwanitz:
“Man, this is one of the best-looking lines I’ve seen since I’ve been here. I think we’re going to have a lot of time back there.”
This will be essential for the team, as they won’t have a quarterback as proficient in 2025 as Shedeur Sanders. However, their more likely starter, former Liberty Flames signal-caller Kaidon Salter, brings an important portion of his offensive output through the running game. For this, he will need a strong offensive line.

College Sports Analyst believes 2025 Colorado Buffaloes can be the best version of the team
Some analysts share the hopeful outlook for the 2025 season, currently coming from the Buffaloes camp. On Monday, college sports analyst Blake Ruffino shared his opinion that the 2025 Colorado team can be the best version of the program during Deion Sanders’ stint:
“I’m going to throw out a hot statement. I think this is just the best overall team that they’ve had top to bottom. That’s tough to say when you had a quarterback like Shedeur and a Heisman Trophy winner. But the problem is, as a collective unit upfront, they’re much better, and that’s what separates them. And it’s what’s going to separate them if they can run the football,” Ruffino said on Monday.

This might surprise some, considering the Buffs lost their two most important players in Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. Nonetheless, Deion Sanders himself confidently shared this take during his appearance in the Big 12 media days in early July. According to him, this Colorado team as a whole is the best he has trained yet.
