Cam Newton took a more recent episode of the 4th & 1 podcast to rekindle and apparently end his current beef with Gillie Da Kid. In the podcast, he provided a series of pointed statements that quickly went viral.
“But you’re always performing other people’s songs when you’re an artist. Why don’t you play your own music? Do that,” Newton replied on the show. “That’s almost like a football player getting hyped to everybody else’s highlights…Play your own clips…I told you you can’t beat me in anything.”, he added. This was Newton’s attempt to”end the beef” between him and Gillie Da Kid.
Newton went on to take more shots at Gillie as the segment ended. His last remark compared Gillie to a team mascot. Newton would claim that both of them are able to bring people together and act entertainingly. Newton stated that he does not support any form of violence against Gillie.
The comments form a new chapter to the bantering yet biting relationship between Newton and Gillie, who have publicly sparred back and forth across social media and in interviews in the last year.

Media and Event Ventures of Cam Newton in 2025
The comments by Newton were made at a time when he was branching out of football. The former NFL MVP has had a steady presence at sporting and entertainment spectacles in 2025.
HBCU growth and acceleration have recently been something Newton has been involved in as well. He has shown passion and desire to create more of an audience for conferences such as the SWAC and MEAC, according to Sports Illustrated. He emphasized that the atmosphere is one of the best in sports.
Newton has also collaborated with various brands to appear during the upcoming NFL season, and his 4th & 1 platform seems to be increasing in viewership on YouTube and Podcast charts.
Regarding the exchange of words with Gillie Da Kid, it is yet unknown whether Gillie will clap back against Newton on his recent statements. When Newton has been mentioned in the past, the rapper, co-host of the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast, has reacted with on-air quips and social media messages. Regardless of whether the exchange will persist or not, Newton’s latest coming out made sure that the storyline does not go out of the public view.
