Shelomi Sanders, the skilled basketball guard and daughter of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, posted a fresh set of beach pics on Instagram. Shelomi, a senior at Alabama A&M, posted a stunning series of photos depicting what seems like an exotic island vacation where she wore some beachwear.
Shelomi said in her Instagram caption, “Island glow hitting like it should ☀️”, which sums up her tropical getaway perfectly. In the photos, we see that the young athlete is wearing a trendy white mesh beach cover-up.

The pictures depict Shelomi having a good time in what tropical place with clear blue waters and beautiful beach aesthetics.
While her father, Deion Sanders, recently disclosed his victory over bladder cancer and recovery, Shelomi is charting her own course in college athletics. Unlike her brother, Shedeur, who followed his father into football at Colorado and the NFL, respectively, Shelomi chose basketball as her avenue to success.

Shelomi Sanders rises as a key player for Alabama A&M
In addition to sharing beautiful vacation photos, Shelomi Sanders is still a redshirt senior guard at Alabama A&M and has been making headlines in the 2025-26 season with the women’s basketball team. Shelomi’s path to Alabama A&M came after transferring from Colorado, where she didn’t get the opportunity to see the court before flourishing with Alabama A&M’s Bulldogs.
At Alabama A&M, Shelomi has been visible as a player and has already developed into a leader. Last season, she played 26 games, showing a work ethic and determination to play that is apparent in the Sanders family.
Sanders, during the 2024-25 season, had an average of 3.9 minutes played. In terms of averages, Sanders was also able to produce 1.2 points, 0.4 rebounds and 0.3 assists during her time on the floor.
Sanders’ averages while on the floor have been 23.3% from the field and 15.4% from the three-point line, so the offensive flow is still something she is searching for.
But Shelomi’s story is more than just being a skilled basketball player. She has been dealing with her battle with Type 1 diabetes throughout her playing career. Her NIL with Dexcom supports her advocacy for Type 1 diabetes and brings awareness for athletes living with diabetes and having to manage it.
Shelomi’s social impact continues to expand through her social change efforts off the court with her partnership with The Center for Rural Enterprise and Environmental Justice. This partnership focuses on clean and sanitation efforts in underserved rural communities to deliver social change in areas that are often overlooked.
