Shedeur Sanders was one of the most talked-about players in this year’s NFL Draft. While he was predicted to go in the top 5 picks according to many analysts, he not only slid out of the first round but ended up waiting for five whole rounds before hearing his name. The ex-Colorado star was finally picked up by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th overall pick. The Browns also chose ex-Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel as the 94th overall pick.
Deion Sanders’ son didn’t let this NFL Draft chaos affect him in a negative way and faced the rookies’ mini camp and the training camp with a strong face.
It was recently announced that Shedeur Sanders will be the Browns’ starting quarterback for the preseason matchup against the Carolina Panthers that is on for Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
Stephen A. Smith believes this decision by the Browns is a setup for Shedeur Sanders to fail, according to his latest podcast appearance.
“I think he’s being set up to fail. That’s right, I’m going to say it. Here we are on national television, right? There have been 11 practices, if I remember correctly. He’s been playing against the third unit. He’s fourth on the depth chart. And then suddenly you throw him into the starting lineup, and he hasn’t had any reps with the first team at all. Think about that. So you’re just going to throw him to the wolves like that, huh? I mean, if he had first-team snaps in practice, I don’t say that. But he doesn’t. And then all of a sudden, he’s starting tomorrow night. It’s like you want him to fail.”

Shedeur Sanders Reveals Why He Asked Deion Sanders Not to Visit Him in Cleveland
Shedeur Sanders was held off from practice this week because of a sore arm. Later that week, he was asked why he didn’t want his dad, Deion Sanders, to visit him in Cleveland.
During the press conference, Shedeur said he doesn’t want Coach Prime there because he wants to get to the place he wants to be and does not want his dad to see him just do a couple of reps.
“I don’t want him to come and see me get a couple reps, and he is cheering like a good dad. Like, nah, you can’t be proud of me right now. I got to get to where I’m going, and I know it’s a lot I got to do to get there,” Shedeur said on Monday, as reported by ESPN.
He further shared that he wants to focus on the game currently and does not want any distractions, as Coach Prime’s visit will be an attraction to most media houses.
