Arch Manning is expected to be the next Tim Tebow of college football, at least according to Paul Finebaum. The Texas quarterback is the No. 1 Heisman Trophy candidate, and Finebaum considers him the best currently.
While Manning enjoys the top position at the Heisman trophy odds, many also project him to be the no.1 pick in the NFL draft, whichever one he may declare for.
Many analysts predict that the Longhorns QB will just spend one year at Texas and will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, while others believe he will stay another year under Steve Sarkisian’s wing.
Now that Arch’s granddad Archie Manning told Texas Monthly that his grandson has no plans to declare for the NFL Draft this year and will stay at Texas, Colin Cowherd believes it’s bad business for the Longhorns star.
“That’s what you have to say. But if he beats Ohio State in Columbus, wins the Heisman or doesn’t, and gets into the national championship game, it’d be really bad business to stay in college. And I know almost every Manning pretty well — they’re good at business, and they say the right thing when they have to,” Cowherd said Thursday. “… Arch Manning made $6.5 million last year at Texas in NIL, reportedly. Cam Ward made $48.7 million guaranteed (as the) No. 1 pick (in the 2025 NFL Draft). Arch, can I interest you in a $42 million loan? Hook what? Yeah.”
“This is the classic Mannings saying the right thing. … The Manning family is American football royalty. So this is exactly what you say. … Arch Manning, if he’s as good as I think he is, he’s got to go pro.” Cowherd added.

Colin Cowherd Predicts Arch Manning-Nick Saban NFL Union
In one of his previous podcasts released on July 23rd,, Cowherd made a bold prediction about the ex Alabama head coach Nick Saban potentially returning to coaching for the NFL, and especially the Cleveland Browns, along with an Arch Manning addition.
He called this theory the “worst kept secret” in the south as he talked about Jimmy Haslam’s close ties with both Saban and the Manning family.
“Haslam circle of trust, according to an article in the Athletic last year, is the Manning family and Jimmy Sexton and Bill Parcells. Sexton is Nick Saban’s agent, so the Mannings are royalty in New Orleans, the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. It’s called the Manning’s Children’s Hospital, and the Mannings are royalty to Jimmy Haslam. Jimmy Haslam also loves headlines.”
Arch Manning will kickoff the 2025 college football season against Ohio State as a year one starter in Columbus.
