UConn Huskies star Azzi Fudd is heading into her final college season. She has been working hard to ensure she has another healthy season after struggling with injuries throughout the early stages of her NCAA career. However, she is also making moves to expand her brand off the field.
On Wednesday, Fudd released the premier episode of her new podcast, “Fudd Around and Find Out.” She hosts the podcast with Ashanti Plummer. In the first episode, the two spoke about all kinds of things around the basketball world and pop culture. One interesting moment was when they were discussing their podcast launch party.
LSU star Flau’Jae Johnson, who is also a professional rapper, was one of the artists who performed. When asked who her favorite musical performance of the weekend was, Fudd did not hesitate to say Flau’Jae, despite her being a national title rival.
“Definitely Flau’jae,” Azzi Fudd said (Timestamp 18:20). “You said it like she was. That was a lot of fun. And I listened to her music as well and watched her play, obviously, but to see her there perform it was also really cool. Because I don’t know, at least for me, like, I know what she’s doing. How she’s balancing school, basketball, and her music career. But then, to see her, I only see her in the basketball world.”
“So to see her actually rapping and performing, that was super cool. So I was like, wow, that’s so impressive to see her doing all this stuff. I don’t know how she does it, but it was so impressive. So shout out Flau’Jae. That was a lot of fun. She did a great job. She was hyping us up.”

Despite Starting Her New Podcast, Azzi Fudd Is Focused on Her Final NCAA Season
While Azzi Fudd is having fun building her brand off the court, she is still focused on preparing for her final NCAA season. While she struggled with injuries in the early stages of her career, she was healthy last season and still has a lot of hype around her. Another strong performance this season could be a big deal for her WNBA career.
Heading into the season, Fudd is viewed as one of the contenders to be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA draft. ESPN ranked the top 15 players in the upcoming draft back in April. While UCLA’s Lauren Betts was the No. 1-ranked player, Fudd came in right behind her at No. 2.
