Former South Carolina Gamecocks star and now LSU Tigers junior MiLaysia Fulwiley just saw her girlfriend JaMeesia Ford talk about her stellar sophomore season. On Monday, August 4, the South Carolina track and field sensation reflected on her recently wrapped up successful second year with a few words and a series of photos.
Ford listed down the accolades she collected in the 2024-25 campaign, as she racked up several SEC accomplishments and even an NCAA title. Fans and spectators hail Ford as one of the best athletes in the sport today, as she now looks forward to her junior year.
“From losing my very first indoor meet this year as a sophomore to becoming a 4x SEC Champion in the 100, 200, 4×1, and 4×4… then going on to win an NCAA title with an injury.. I can’t help but say I’m beyond blessed. This season has been a fight,” Ford wrote.
“Even though the times at Trials weren’t what I hoped for, I still made the 200m final at the U.S. Trials, with everything against me, I stood next to the best in the world. That alone speaks volumes,” she added.
Ford thanked God and said this is just the beginning. She concluded with a statement regarding what’s next for her. Fulwiley and the rest of the South Carolina faithful are behind her, as she gears up to defend her throne next season.
“Next time I step on that track… it’s not just JaMeesia. It’s everything I’ve endured, everything I’ve conquered, and everything I know is still coming. I will be back. Stronger. Better. And trust y’all gon’ remember my name,” Ford wrote.

Despite moving to a rival school, Fulwiley and Ford have kept their relationship afloat, as evident through their support of each other through Instagram comments and posts.
For the former’s case, she is coming off her sophomore year of college basketball with the Gamecocks, in which Fulwiley helped the team to a 35-4 overall record (15-1 SEC).
MiLaysia Fulwiley transferred to the LSU Tigers despite winning an NCAA title with South Carolina
Despite experiencing national championship success with coach Dawn Staley’s program when they defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes, 87-75, in the 2024 national title game, MiLaysia Fulwiley decided to transfer to the team’s conference rivals, the LSU Tigers, in April this year.
In her final season with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Fulwiley tallied 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest.
