2x SB Champ Deion Sanders Reveals Which Son Was ‘Built To Handle’ Brutal Truth Behind Health Mystery

After missing months due to a previously undisclosed health issue, Deion Sanders is back in Boulder and leading the training camp for the Colorado Buffaloes. As it turned out, the two-time Super Bowl-winning cornerback had a cancerous tumor in his bladder, and he kept his cancer battle very private until last week’s press conference.

During that cancer battle, it was mostly his children who were the ones who helped him out, and during a new video from Well Off Media, Deion Sanders revealed which of his sons were “built” to handle something like his cancer battle. He noted that it is not his two youngest sons, Shilo and Shedeur, who are “on assignment” as they begin their rookie campaigns with their respective NFL teams.

“God got me. I’m going to be there. I’m going to be alright, They have an assignment right before the eyes that they can’t take their eyes off. And that’s what I want. Now, you (Deion Jr.) and Deiondra, you know, you all know this too. You guys are built more so to handle something like this because of your age and your stages of life and they’re not,” he told eldest son Deion Sanders Jr. (2:29)

As Deion Sanders said, his son, Deion Jr., is the best to handle among his three sons because of his age, as well as the fact that the other two are building their own NFL legacies, while he was battling cancer. The same goes for his sister, Deiondra, who has more life experience than her two younger brothers currently in the NFL, as well as women’s basketball star Shelomi.

For months, Sanders stayed in his Texas home while his team continued training without him, sparking rumors that he may be planning to leave and head to the NFL, where his sons are. Fans also speculated that his undiagnosed health issue was his blood clots returning, a health problem that led to two of his toes being amputated. As it turned out, it was cancer.

Deion Sanders Credits Cancer Recovery To the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Dr. Janet Kukreja

When he held last week’s medical update, he was with his medical team, led by University of Colorado School of Medicine robotic surgery expert, Dr. Janet Kukreja. This is the same doctor who did his surgery, and Deion Sanders credits her for saving his life.

Kukreja is considered the best in the country when it comes to robotic bladder cancer surgeries, which have robots assisting especially challenging surgeries, such as removing a cancerous tumor in the bladder. She was also the one who announced that Sanders is now cancer-free, with Sanders saying that he “trusted and believed” in her “100%.”
