Angel Reese and Shaquille O’Neal share a great uncle-niece bond. Shaq has always cheered on the LSU alum, given his strong ties and legacy with the Tigers. The Big Aristotle, as he is popularly known, had also chosen Reese over Caitlin Clark in the WNBA Rookie of the Year debate last year.
Angel Reese hosts a podcast called “Unapologetically Angel,” where Shaq, who has a net worth of $500 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), was her guest last October. They discussed a myriad of topics, but one that had Angel responding most brutally was Shaq’s bizarre dating confessions.
When Reese asked Shaq if he had ever let a woman go through his phone, he said, “Of course.” However, the four-time NBA champion confidently proclaimed that they never found anything. Using an analogy, Shaq explained:
“It’s called other phone in one of my other cars. I got 40 cars, if you figure which car my other phone is in, you can go through it” (34:27).
Listening to Shaq’s answer, Reese laughed but boldly replied:
“I am scared of men like you” (34:35).
This prompted the former NBA superstar to say that he was joking.
Shaq was married to Shaunie Henderson, with whom he divorced in 2011. He reportedly dated Karrine Steffans and Dominica Westling while he was married and has often said how infidelity was one of his biggest vices.
When Shaquille O’Neal’s comments made Angel Reese uncomfortable
Shaq and Angel Reese have a genuine student-mentor relationship, both on and off the screen. Shaq even signed Reese to join Reebok as an athlete brand ambassador, leading her to follow in his footsteps. However, there was one moment between the two that might have rubbed off poorly amongst both Angel Reese and Shaq’s audience.
Before the shoot of the podcast mentioned above, Angel Reese had made an appearance at the Wild’N Out Live Tour’s Chicago stop.
On the podcast, Shaq repeatedly referenced Reese wearing “little a** shorts” on the topic of dunking in the league. The former Lakers center said:
“Bro, imagine you in the same little a** shorts you had on at the Wild’N Out show dunking.”

This statement had Angel Reese bewildered. Though she laughed it off, muttering, “Oh my God.” Shaq continued:
“What? What? Those same little a** shorts.”
Angel Reese tried her best to deflect the topic, only for Shaq to circle back to it further. He added:
“You’re not beautiful or good looking – You’re gorgeous. There’s a lot of gorgeous women in the WNBA.”
However, it seems like the bond between the two remained unaffected. Reese still speaks highly of Shaq and the influence he has had over her career.
