“Second to None” – Dawn Staley Sends Bold Message On What Sets Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Apart Ahead Of 2025-26 Season

When it comes to winning, South Carolina Gamecocks WBB head coach Dawn Staley knows a thing or two, as she is a multiple-time NCAA national champion after all. She then commented on the fan experience at William Bryce Stadium, the home stadium of the Gamecocks football team, and said it was the best.

There is nothing like being at Williams Brice at a football game. There’s nothing like it. We are second to none. We are the No. 1 experience in Williams Brice Stadium at any game at any time that we are in Williams Brice Stadium. It’s gonna be a party,” she said.

She also commented on how dedicated the fans are in South Carolina, even telling a story of some Gamecocks fans telling her that they already booked their tickets to see the Final Four games, and this happened even before the season began.

Staley has been hyping South Carolina up on multiple fronts, even promoting the school’s other sports teams, including Shane Beamer’s football team, which is expected to have a tough season ahead of them, as they are part of the SEC, known to be one of the toughest conferences in football today. This year, their superstar quarterback, LaNorris Sellers, is expected to lead the team into the 2025 season.

As for Dawn Staley, her women’s basketball team is still regarded as one of the big favorites to go deep into the national tournament next year, even though they lost some big-name players like Mi’Laysia Fulwiley.

Dawn Staley Addresses Carolina Panthers as Special Guest Speaker During Team Meeting

Dawn Staley is a fan of many other sports, regularly watching both soccer and football. Because of her record in winning, she gets to talk about her winning mentality a lot, especially in the offseason. The latest one was with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

She got to talk about what it takes to win, and she impressed many of the NFL players listening, including Jaycee Horn, a former Gamecocks player who is dating Brea Beal, who won a national title in 2022 with South Carolina. He commented on what Staley said.

“That was special. She created a powerhouse at South Carolina, just the culture they created and how serious they were,” he said. “I’ve heard my girlfriend talk about it, just the standard she talked about that she held them to. It’s contagious, and I feel like that’s why they’re so dominant as a program.”

Staley won three national titles with the Gamecocks and was inducted into the basketball and women’s basketball Halls of Fame.
