Podcaster and former Heisman-winning quarterback Cam Newton has opinions on a lot of things, and he is not afraid to say them. Usually, he does it on his “4th&1 With Cam Newton” podcast, but on July 31, he appeared on Johnny Manziel’s “Glory Daze” podcast and talked about several big topics.
Newton and Manziel talked about the “underdog” teams for some of the biggest football states in the country, being Texas A&M for Texas, UCLA for California and Auburn for Alabama. This was when he praised Manziel, who was very instrumental in Texas A&M’s success.
“We were the heads of the underdogs A&M is never supposed to beat Texas, Auburn is never supposed to beat Alabama. But when you give the forgotten sons or the stepchildren the power now, it’s like, oh my goodness, that that type of passion is different being, and I’m not trying to nuke nobody’s power. Going to Georgia, going to Alabama, going to USC, it’s just like, okay, yeah, this is what we… but t’s almost like UCLA. a star comes from UCLA to take LA over,” Newton explained.
“Man, what does that look like? You know what I’m saying? It’s is that is where I have a different amount of respect because you did what you wasn’t supposed to do at a high level. And it takes focus. It takes courage. And it takes a whole bunch of steel nuts to walk and be like, “Bro, I’m just better than you.” he added.
Like Newton, Manziel was also a Heisman winner, though he only spent two seasons in the NFL after leaving Texas A&M. He won several trophies with the Aggies, including the Manning Award, though he could not lead the Aggies to a national title.

Cam Newton Praises Arch Manning In Front of Fellow Heisman Winner Amid Heisman Race
Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel know what winning the Heisman is all about, and during Manziel’s “Glory Daze” podcast, Newton revealed that he believes the Texas quarterback has got the goods to be a great player. As this is happening, Arch Manning is one of the early frontrunners to win the Heisman.
“I think he has everything, from talent around him to him being talented, to him having that last name, you know, preloaded and ready to go. Oh, yeah. It’s it’s it’s it’s already set. You know what I’m saying?” he told his fellow Heisman winner Manziel (1:03:41)
Arch Manning will be entering his junior year with a ton of hype, even though he did not play much last year, as he was just a substitute quarterback. Still, all that praise from one of the biggest former NFL stars out there is one big endorsement for any player.
