Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown’s ex, was by Deion Sander’s side as he battled a cancerous tumor in his bladder, with there being rumors that the Colorado Buffaloes coach is dating her. As he continued making his media rounds, Sanders could not avoid the mounting questions regarding Tran’s involvement as he recovered from his tumor.
Coach Prime was a guest on former NFL star Asante Samuel’s “Say What Needs To Be Said” podcast, and as the former Super Bowl winner brought the topic of Tran up as they were saying goodbye to one another, Sanders jokingly avoided the question, which Samuel asked in jest.
“All right last one, I’mma let you go coach, don’t kill the messenger, everyone has seen Karrueche by your side during your hospital visit, everyone want to know what that friendship is?” asked Samuel. (36:15)
“Hey! We got a bad connection, I can’t” said Sanders as he cut the call off while both of them were laughing.
Tran, an actress and Emmy-winning producer, was often seen by Deion Sanders’ side during his very private battle with cancer, and she provided him with emotional strength before his surgery. Tran was also there for him, helping him get his first steps in post surgery. She was highly featured in the “For Your Glory” video released in July 2025, that told the story of Sanders’ battle with the cancerous tumor.
Neither of them have officially confirmed their relationship, but the documentary hinted that they were very close with one another. Tran was even seen being emotional about Sanders’ cancer battle during the documentary. This was why many were speculating if they are dating or not.

Chris Brown Posts Cryptic Instagram Story as Rumors About His Ex Dating Deion Sanders Spread
As with many of Chris Brown’s exes, Karrueche Tran also had a very bitter split with the notorious rapper, even filing a restraining order against him. Since they broke up in 2017, Brown, who was infamously convicted for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, has since blasted all of the men whom Tran was either dating or rumored to have dated. With the Deion Sanders rumors spreading, he took to his Instagram Stories and posted this:
“Lil sh-t still pisses me off to this day. Ima pray on it”
The story was published July 29, which means it has since expired. However, there are speculations that he was directing it at Tran, as she was the latest ex in the spotlight thanks to the Deion Sanders cancer battle documentary.
