The former No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield was pretty open when asked about the quarterback situation in Cleveland Browns.
On the “New Heights” podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers, Baker gave a quick response to the Browns’ packed quarterback room.
“Listen, I plead the fifth,” Bakers’ reaction sparked laughter from Kelce brothers. “When I was healthy, I was starting to get pretty damn good there. Not my problem anymore,” he stated.

Mayfield once was the shining star in a dim Cleveland football era. He had the entire franchise on his shoulders and completely won the affection of all the fans. Formally, he led the Browns to their first playoff appearance in years as a rookie. During that campaign, he threw for 3,725 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 14 games.
Although his exit was widely celebrated, Cleveland has gotten worse, and Baker has made a full comeback. The former Brown is leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into another season after back-to-back playoff runs.

What’s Latest in Cleveland Browns’ Quarterback Battle?
The Cleveland Browns’ trading camp has quite literally turned into a media frenzy due to the quarterback battle. Shedeur Sanders, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett are all fighting to take the starting job. While many thought it would be clearer with a few weeks to the season, the Browns have not gone in a specific direction.
Sanders has gathered the majority of the attention as of late. He has played with promise throughout the campaign, although the team hasn’t given him much opportunity with the first team. Sports Illustrated analyst Conor Orr believes that is justified.
“I’m sorry to yet again remind Sanders drumbeaters that any other presuppositions we have of this rookie are purely fantasy,” Orr stated.
Gaberial and Flacco have their strengths and are trending in the right direction. Flacco is the veteran of the group, and seems to be the safety blanket if nothing else works out. Meanwhile, many believe Gabriel has quietly flown under the radar. He has been consistent throughout the whole camp and could be the backup, according to many reports.
Lastly, there is Kenny Pickett, who was thought to be ahead in the battle, according to Sports Illustrated. However, this week he will be out with a hamstring injury.
Browns general manager, Andrew Berry, still hasn’t sided with anyone in the battle. He even told reporters last week that all four quarterbacks could stay on the roster.
